Meeting Minutes for October 12, 2009

 

Present: Sgt Lee McKinney, Diane Hieber, Mike Hieber, Mark Bratt, Mike Powder, Tamara Hudson, Steven Kontaratos, Margie Langenderfer, Jerry Newman, Nancy Newman, Paul Hamel, Lana Sweeney, Bernie Albert,  Jon Waltz, Terry Sue Minnich, Dave Amstutz, Steve Czerniak, Paul Carr

 

1. Call to Order
1. The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM

3. Treasurer’s Report
1. $4116.71 as of 8/31/09
4. Secretary’s Report

5. Officer’s Report
1. Given by Sgt. Lee McKinney

                                               i.         Outdoor Range date is still being worked on

1.     Be held on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday in October

                                             ii.         Dare Class

1.     anyone can volunteer to help the officer teach the class

2.     Dan teaches on a Friday

3.     Jeff teaches on Wednesday/Thursday. 

4.     Shaun teaches on Monday.

                                            iii.         Halloween Hike at Olander Park to held on October 24, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

1.     Need at least 3 volunteers

2.     Olander will provide the booth and candy

                                            iv.         Halloween Patrols

1.     possible to have 2 Citizen Patrol cars to help with trick or treating

                                             v.         Sgt. McKinney thanked everyone that volunteered for the firearms training.

6. President’s Report
1. Adopt a Holiday Family

                                               i.         Will discuss in more detail at the November meeting

                                             ii.         Motion to participate in the Adopt a Holiday Family by Terry Sue Minnich and seconded by Margie Langenderfer

2. Shop with a Cop

                                               i.         Department will be contacting Wal Mart to see if the program will continue this holiday season.

7. New Business
1. Purchase of a navigation system for the Citizens’ Patrol by the Alumni group.

                                               i.         Motion by Margie for a limit of $300.00 and to research 3 quotes for 3 different models)

                                             ii.         Motion seconded by Jon Waltz

2. Sylvania Family Services

                                               i.         Group nominated the Citizens’ Patrol for the Ray of Hope award

                                             ii.         Lana, select officers and members of the Citizens’ Patrol will attend the award ceremony on 10/14/2009
